In this role, you will work in the field of functional ceramics and actively contribute to the continuous development of advanced ceramic materials and technologies.

Your Tasks

  • Support and advance the research and development of ceramic materials, covering formulation, synthesis, and advanced processing techniques
  • Initiate, plan, lead, and execute R&D projects, ensuring timely delivery and close coordination with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Conduct comprehensive materials characterization using methods such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), thermal analysis, and mechanical testing
  • Develop and optimize ceramic processing routes, including tape casting, de-binding, sintering, and additive manufacturing technologies
  • Monitor market developments and competitive landscapes to identify emerging market and technology trends
  • Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to successfully transfer laboratory-scale innovations into pilot and industrial-scale production processes
  • Systematically document experimental work, analyze and interpret data, and effectively present results internally, at scientific conferences, and to customers

Your Profile

  • PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related discipline, ideally complemented by up to five years of industrial experience in ceramics, inorganic materials, or high-temperature processing
  • Proven ability to independently manage research projects, including structured planning, progress tracking, and clear reporting of results
  • Strong hands-on experience in ceramic material synthesis, processing, and/or characterization techniques
  • Excellent analytical skills with a solid background in data evaluation, interpretation, and professional laboratory documentation
  • Confident communication skills in both English and German, enabling effective collaboration in international and interdisciplinary teams
  • High motivation for applied, industry-driven research and a collaborative mindset suited to a dynamic industrial environment
  • Interest or affinity in artificial intelligence or machine learning approaches is considered a strong advantage
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to customers, partners, and external collaborators
